FAQs

Below are some FAQs and what I tend to say – if you don’t see your questions answered here, send me a message

Can we see Sam for just Mindset Coaching – or do they both have to happen together?

The sessions are bespoke to you and what you want. If you just want to improve your communication skills, we will work on that. If you’d just like to address a mindset issue, that’s great, too. Both work really well together.

In what format are the sessions available?

They can be as part of a group or individual. Individual sessions do cost a bit more, but many people prefer them that way. The sessions last around 45 minutes each and should be taken (around) once a week. There will be things to think about and practice, so having the sessions too spaced out will make that harder. They can be online or in person, or a mixture of both.

What age benefits most from these sessions?

I have coached all ages. If you want to change the way your mindset or the way you communicate, then I can work with you. The majority of my clients are aged between 16 and 22, but I have worked with all ages.

Do I have to commit to a whole course? How much does it all cost?

Again, it’s bespoke to you, your needs and your budget. I usually work at a rate of £60 per session but please reach out to me and explain what you need. There are ways to make it more affordable.

Is Sam a psychologist?

No, I have no medical or formal qualification in that field and do not and have never claimed to have. I work closely with a specialist child psychotherapist (and referrals can be made if needs be). I have worked as part of schools’ pastoral and Mental Health/Well-being teams for nearly twenty years, am CRB checked, and hold other qualifications to do with safeguarding and pastoral care. I have worked alongside top sports psychologist Don Macpherson to develop this course. Anyone looking for clinical help or intervention can get in touch with me and I will help you find what you need.

Do I get my money back if it doesn’t work?

With mindset coaching, there isn’t a ‘magic switch’ I flick — it’s a process we go through together. Your results will depend on your openness, your effort, and your willingness to apply the tools I give you. That’s why I can’t offer refunds — it’s not like buying a pair of shoes that don’t fit. It’s about change, and change isn’t something I can do to you — it’s something I do with you. What I can say is this: I’ve worked with lots of clients/athletes/professionals, and those who commit see results. If you show up and do the work, you’ll get a return far greater than the fee. My job is to guide, challenge and equip you — your job is to implement. So the real question isn’t ‘will I get my money back?’ — it’s ‘am I ready to get the best out of myself with the right support?’ If the answer is yes, then this will be worth every penny.
